Published in 1972 by Price Stern Sloan, “Ecolo/Jest” was the first ecological humor book.

Began as a cartoon strip in the early ‘70s, Ecolo/Jest led newspaper cartooning into a new era of visual muckracking.. Its message is Save the Environment!

Armed with a simple sketch and a biting satirical caption, Dana quickly alerts his readers to the acute problems of water shortage, air pollution, pesticide, and other modern-day dangers that threaten man’s living conditions, not just in  major cities but everywhere.

 After a successful trial-run in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin (Bill’ hom, these early environmental cartoons were designed and written by Bill Dana. appearing in more than 75 newspapers coast to coast.
